Exam Prep FAQs

1) I took my courses online; what are the advantages of a live prep class?
Online real estate courses offer convenience and work well until you don’t quite understand an important concept. It can then become very frustrating when you have no one to ask. Many of us benefit from access to a real estate expert who is able clarify areas of confusion and respond to follow-up questions in detail. Students have said they learned more in this one day live real estate prep course than in their online Principles and Practices courses.

2) I have so much study material that I’m overwhelmed. How can I figure out what’s most important?
Do you feel as if you have purchased real estate materials by the pound? Are you studying thousands of separate exam questions? Here is a little inside secret about real estate. There are basic concepts which when understood will allow you to answer thousands of questions. Our real estate salesperson course is designed to provide you live instructor support to make sure you understand the fundamental concepts of real estate and give you the advantage you need to pass the DRE exam.

3) I got 90% on practice tests, but still failed the D.R.E. exam. What went wrong?
In some classes more than half of the attendees have already failed the D.R.E. exam at least once. Students often believe they understand key concepts, but miss related questions on the exam. Our instructors have the proven ability to explain complex real estate concepts in simple terms and provide specific test taking strategies to help you pass the exam.

4) What are “Connecting the Dots?”
Each of the 10 content chapters is introduced by "Connecting the Dots," a collection of stories created to provide context for important terms and concepts. After each story, questions reinforce what has just been learned to help students determine their level of understanding. Past students comment that they are one of the most effective components of our real estate salespersons course.

5) How much math is on the exam?
The real estate SALESPERSON and BROKER exams do not emphasize math. Some versions of the salesperson exam have zero and some have 5 or 6 math problems. The broker exams typically have 5 or 6 math questions.  Both of our courses cover enough math to enable you to answer any question that requires calculation on the exam. The Math Appendix in the class book is presented as a resource for those who want to go deeper.
